The Weekly Check In - with Travis Millard

(Part of The Weekly Check In series)

I only knew of Travis Millard as this artist guy that lived in Lawrence, Kansas that did Get Up Kids album covers, etc. So when I first moved to Los Angeles I knew I had to find him and I did. He worked up the street at this bar where he’d just turned the dirty graffitti bathroom walls into his own, by painting Fudge Factory all over it. Since then we’ve stayed in touch and he has taught me about music from the 90’s and I can’t thank him enough.

RR: What are you currently working on or just finished that you’re excited about?

Millard: Oh gosh! Glad you asked. I just finished a really great bag of chips, … salt and vinegar, .. not sure of the brand. They were excellent though, and i’m still very excited about that. Also just saw the new ((Sounder)) video our friend Mike Aho put together, it’s Me and Mel’s big music video dancing debut:

RR: Where have you traveled so far this month?

Millard: Nowhere far. Unless you’re including extra-peripheral hallucinatory experiences… and in that case it would also be, nowhere far.

RR: What’s your favorite music right now?

Millard: The Stater Brothers grocery store commercial jingles are really doing it for me.

RR: Best food you’ve had in your neighborhood lately or while you were traveling?

MIllard: I’m gonna have to stay with that bag of salt and vinegar chips. … gotta find out the name of that brand… shouldn’t have eaten the bag wrapper…

RR: Anything Else You Want To Mention?

Millard: I’m starting to get a stomach ache.
